Surgical and Clinical Expertise:

Bariatric surgery, anti-reflux surgery, general surgery, advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, surgeries of the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine.

Bariatric Procedures Performed:

Laparoscopic roux-en-y gastric bypass, laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy (gastric sleeve), duodenal switch, gastric balloon, gastric band, revisions and conversions of previous bariatric procedures, and robotic bariatric surgery.

Credentials:

Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, member of the Association of Women Surgeons, SAGES, and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), ACLS and BLS certified, Medtronic Fellows in Bariatric Surgery, completion of the SAGES Flexible Endoscopy and Intuitive Robotic Certification courses.

Training Institutes:

Dr. Patel received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She continued her education at Rutgers where she obtained her medical degree. She then went on to complete a Bariatric/Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Residency followed by a fellowship in bariatric surgery.

Work Experience:

Following the completion of her fellowship program, Dr. Patel joined a bariatric surgical practice in San Antonio, Texas. In March of 2021, she relocated to Nevada to join the team of surgeons at Las Vegas Bariatrics. In 2025, Dr. Patel joined the team at Dignity Health in Las Vegas. She currently sees patients at St Rose Dominican - San Martin Hospital.
