Dr. Filicori graduated from the University of Bologna in Italy. After graduation, he completed a post-doctoral research study and a general surgery residency at Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at The Oregon Clinic.
Work Experience:
After graduating from his surgical training, Dr. Filippo Filicori became an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine in New York. In 2018, he joined the Lenox Hill Bariatric Program as a general and bariatric surgeon where he currently practices.
Research and Literature:
Dr. Filippo Filicori is primarily interested in robotic and bariatric surgery techniques that improve patient outcomes through the gastric bypass and gastric sleeve operations. He is also interested in minimally invasive techniques to treat reflux and gastroesophageal neoplastic and dysmotility disorders. On these topics, Dr. Filicori has contributed to more than 20 publications on peer-reviewed international medical journals, presented over 30 times at international meetings, and written 2 book chapters.
