General surgery, advanced laparoscopy, reflux disease, foregut disease, endoscopy, and bariatric surgery procedures, including gastric bypass, vertical sleeve gastrectomy, and duodenal switch.

Bariatric Procedures Performed:

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (Gastric Sleeve), Duodenal Switch, Gastric Balloon, Gastric Band, and Revisions and conversions of previous bariatric procedures.

Credentials:

Dr. Stegemann was a key player in the Texas bariatric market. He helped organize the first meeting of bariatric surgeons in Texas, which eventually formed into the Texas Association for Bariatric Surgery (TABS) where Dr. Stegemann served as the group’s first President. He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program at Bay Area Hospital and South Texas Surgical Hospital. Dr. Stegemann is also involved in the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and is a Board of Director for the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC).

Training Institutes:

Dr. Lloyd Stegemann received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Following graduation, Dr. Stegemann went on to complete his surgical residency in San Antonio, Texas which spurred his passion for changing lives through obesity treatment.

Work Experience:

Dr. Stegemann practices in Corpus Christi, Texas, serving the obesity market. He offer medical and surgical treatment options and has performed over 2,000 bariatric operations.

Outside of the Operating Room:

When I am not working, you can find me outdoors, particularly on the water or the golf course, traveling, and spending time with my family.
