Training Institutes:

Dr. Ailawadi graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor's degree in biology. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. After completing his education, Dr. Ailawadi attended a residency program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago (Mount Sinai). He then completed his fellowship in thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee

Work Experience:

Dr. Ailwadi began his medical career in 1999, where he worked as a fellow in surgical oncology conducting research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In 2005, he obtained a fellowship in cardiac and thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 2011, he founded Lehigh Valley Weight Loss, where he currently serves as the director of bariatric surgery. Dr. Ailawadi also spent a year as the director of bariatric surgery at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA.
