Dr. Peterson completed his general surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, where he received extensive training in a wide range of surgical procedures and patient care. He went on to complete a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina—one of the leading programs in advanced surgical techniques and bariatric care.

Dr. Peterson currently practices at the Minimally Invasive Institute of Surgery (MIIS) in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he is part of Tampa Bay Surgical Group. He brings over a decade of surgical experience, combining advanced techniques with a patient-centered approach. Throughout his career, he has performed hundreds of successful bariatric surgeries and remains committed to improving surgical outcomes through innovation, education, and compassionate care.
